An investigation is underway after vandals slashed the tyres of a police van in Cardiff. The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday on Market Street in the Canton area, where the marked police vehicle was parked in a bay.
South Wales Police reported that the tyres had been punctured multiple times with a sharp implement. As a result, PCSOs are conducting house-to-house inquiries and reviewing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators.
In a statement, South Wales Police condemned the act, stating: “There is one less South Wales Police vehicle on the road today thanks to an act of vandalism in Canton, Cardiff. Criminal damage to any car is unacceptable. But the safety, and sometimes lives, of the public depends on the availability of our vehicles. Such acts will not be tolerated.”
